Say cheese

Oh Lord. I just discovered that someone found my blog by searching for an answer to the age-old question, Is mozzarella okay when pregnant?

Someone wanted a cheese sandwich and ended up with a whole plate full of information I'm quite sure she did not want to know.

Dude, I'm sorry.

But if you're still reading, yes, mozzarella is fine as long as it's pasteurized.

Oh who the hell am I kidding? The poor thing has run screaming from her computer and is probably begging her OB to put her into a medically induced coma for the remainder of her pregnancy as we speak.

God, I've ruined this baby-having thing for more people...

Someone found me a while back by searching for "early pg symptoms tww" and stayed for about 15 mins reading. Well, I thought, I'm not actively telling pg people their babies might die, but if, say, she does her kick counts if she's pregnant, then maybe that's something.

No, you haven't ruined it for her. It's a little dose of reality. However, until it happens to you most people *do* have an 'it can't happen to me' attitude. So they read, and feel sad, and forget about it. This is irritating of course but overall i don't think it is a bad attitude to have, i sure wish i could have it again!

Maybe she didn't want to know - like ANY of us want to know our babies could/did die - but that's life and sometimes it ain't pretty. That sounds terribly callous, I know, but sometimes bad stuff happens and we can't always protect everyone else from our tragedies, as hard as we may try.

You - of all people - have far too big a heart to ruin anything for anyone, and it would take just a few moments of reading your blog for someone to know that. If anything, she now knows what a strong woman and loving mother you are.

My googles are incredibly bizarre. I've decided I can't worry about people who show up and don't see what they need to hear. Because of course, there is always the chance that someone who has lost a baby and really needs to read something about infant loss will find me, right?

I bet you 10 bazillion dollars that she read a bit, felt sorry for you, then carried on knowing that such a thing would never happen to her - these things only happen to people in movies and on the internet, not real people.

Am I bitter???? I think I am....

I think you help a lot more women that you will ever know. I know I've said it before but I made choices with my own labour and delivery that were due to 'knowing' Thomas. I will always be thankful to you for that.
