Quick update

There are two tricky little babies in there. Invisible ones, it would appear.

Ultrasound number three revealed two growing sacs, but no one inside. At least not yet.

We've talked and talked and talked until we're blue in the face trying to convince each other that everything is fine (and we've just about done it, if you can believe it) but the truth is we really won't know if those two pretty little sacs are home to our two pretty little babies until we actually see two pretty little babies inside them.

And hopefully we'll be doing that next Friday at ultrasound #4.

My beta numbers are excellent (or "lovely" as the kind nurse on the phone told us) and sypmtoms have begun to kick in with a startling vengeance, so all signs point to yes. Except the ones we just can't seem to see yet.

So stay tuned. The roller coaster continues.

I miss you Thomas. And I love you.

it could be a wee bit early too. not that this is helpful but a year ago we went in for an u/s at what i thought was week 7 and it was week 9 per the measurements, and we saw the girls' heartbeats. (i was trying to do the math by your post dates, would that make you at week 3?)

elation/trepidation (elapidation?)sucks. i'm praying for all of you.

I can't blame you for being cautious but try not to let it bring you down. I hope you get a better picture of your babies next week. Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.

Oh, I hope everything works out and you get to see something during the ultrasound. I so hope that this is a healthy pregnancy! Thomas has to be looking down and smiling at you. Best of luck.

An agonizing wait, I know. Both this pregnancy and with Natan I had that "empty sac" ultrasound. It's still probably just too early!

I like wannabe mom's new word elapidation.

I'll be thinking of you all every day.

That's a hard stage, before you can see that flicker in the sacs. Holding everything crossed for you until Friday.

I just discovered your blog a few days ago, what wonderful timing on my part! I have read every single archive in the past three days and think you and your Beloved are, and will be, phenomenal parents. My brother and sister-in-law have a story all too similar to yours, having lost their sweet angel Brandalyn July 3rd when she was born at 23 weeks gestation from either an abruption, infection, incompetent cervix or some combination of the three. They also have two angel babies prior to Sweet Brandalyn in Heaven. I am not a mom in mourning, but I am an aunt that mourns very, very, very much alongside my brother and sis-in-law. I hope it's o.k. to put my nose into your space. I'm having a really hard time finding spaces for grieving aunts! Congrats again, I'm so excited for you!
