Because I'm anal and paranoid...

...I need to make it clear that I enjoyed myself yesterday - I really, really did. I love girlie garden parties with a passion and wish there were more opportunities to shower people with love and kitchen gadgets.

And it was lovely to see you there! It was a weird row of women you were sitting in, friend: doula; you; the doula's sister who is infertile and thinking of adopting; child-free friend who just lost her dog of 13 years... I wondered what way you'd lean, too, and you know, I think your default should always be to speak of Thomas. When people ask how many siblings I have, I always say that there used to be four of us, but my brother died and now there are only three. I know it's not as incomprehensible as losing a child, but it's part of life. People just have to deal with it. If you're willing/able to speak of him, people will be willing/able to hear about him.
Anyhow, it was so, so great to see you yesterday. You are awesome.

I'm glad you had such a great time. Showers of any kind can be tricky situations when your heart is weighing heavy. But it sounds like you sailed through with flying colours! And I know what you mean about kitchen gadgets. Sometimes I daydream about moving, just to be able to have a housewarming, lol!
